Mounya Elhilali is the Charles Renn Faculty Scholar and Professor in the department of Electrical and Computer Engineering with joint appointment in the department of Psychology and Brain Sciences at Johns Hopkins University. She is the founder of the Laboratory for Computational Audio Perception and is recognized for advancing our understanding of how the human brain and audio technologies process and interpret sound.


Dr. Elhilali received her M.S. and Ph.D. (2004) in Electrical and Computer engineering from the University of Maryland in College Park and her B.S. from AlAkhawayn University in Morocco (1998). Dr. Elhilali received numerous awards including outstanding woman innovator and the prestigious Office of Naval Research Young Investigator Award and a National Science Foundation CAREER Award.
