During the year 2016, NAAWA sponsored many events such as Movie & Pizza Events – “The Wanted 18” which was screened In MD, DC &VA. During PCRF Annual Fundraising Gala, NAAWA booked two tables to support PCRF for building a new Pediatric Cancer Center in During the year 2016 , NAAWA sponsered many events such as Movie & Pizza Events – “The Wanted 18” which was screened In MD, DC &VA. During PCRF Annual Fundraising Gala, NAAWA booked two tables to support PCRF for building a new Pediatric Cancer Center in Gaza. During the month of March, NAAWA celebrated the International Women’s Day at the Sheraton Tysons (VA). Our guest speakers were Lena Alhusseini & Kate Seelye. We were enriched by the art exhibition of Nadia Darwish, Alissar Malouf and Nadia Duchelle. During the dinner we were entertained by Kylie Hilali (Qanun) & Lena Saikaly (Jazz). During the month of April , NAAWA celebrated Arab American Heritage Month in Gaithersburg, MD . Also celebrated the Arab American Heritage Proclamation Month in Fairfax, VA . During the year, NAAWA participated with: Arab America during “Hummus for the Homeless” & “Hattas and Hats” to show Community Support. AAI Workshop – “Yalla Vote Campaign.” NOW, during the Annual Holiday Dinner, NAAWA presented by Dr. Alma Abdul-Hadi Jadallah and Syrian philanthropists Melika Al-Kawas and Malak Mamish from SAWA. During the “Women’s Empowerment Project, ” NAAWA hosted Lobna Ismail (Luby), Founder and President of “Connecting Cultures, LLC.”1. NAAWA EOP members address the Board of Education of Fairfax County.

  •  Loudon County education staff workshop on Arab Americans and the diverse Arab world.
  •  A presentation at the National Council on Social Studies Annual Conference
  •  NAAWA represented our community at the Advisory Board for Culturally Responsive Practice of Virginia State (to revise the Standards of learning).
  •  NAAWA provided resources on teaching students about Arab AMericans during Arab American heritage month of FCPS in APril 2021.
  •  Held consultations with various school leadership in the region regarding the teaching of the conflicts in the Middle East and the interest and welfare of our children.
  •  NAAWA women present themselves in a short video that represents our community and its diversity.
  •  NAAWA organized a webinar that included women panelists representing the African American, Arab American, and Latinax American communities who spoke about the importance of creating alliances to impact policies and decision making processes in education and beyond.
  • NAAWA EOP held a workshop on Arab Americans to Falls Church city staff and teachers.
